Anna Faris Talks Roller Coasters and Rebuilding After Wildfire

LOS ANGELES, CA — Actress Anna Faris is opening up about her journey of trying new experiences with her son, Jack, despite the challenges they have faced. In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, the 48-year-old actress shared how her love for her son motivates her to conquer fears, including thrilling amusement park rides.
Faris remarked, “I am really proud that I will go on any roller coaster or any water slide,” emphasizing the importance of being adventurous for Jack’s sake. She added, “I’ve stepped out of my comfort zone because of my love for my son so many times.” Faris shares her 12-year-old son with ex-husband Chris Pratt and has two stepchildren with her current husband, Michael Barret.
However, the past year has tested Faris and Jack’s spirits significantly. In January, the actress lost her $5 million home in the Pacific Palisades to a wildfire that destroyed over 10,000 structures and claimed at least 10 lives. “It’s still surreal,” she admitted, reflecting on the loss of her home. “We are going to rebuild. It will be a process.”
Among all the struggles, Faris expressed gratitude for her son. “He’s also handled the situation with the fires well, too,” she said. “I really appreciate that.” As they navigate their new reality, Faris praised her son for his resilience during such difficult times.
Faris detailed the chaotic evacuation, recalling, “The fire’s coming, the sky is turning red… Well, I guess better safe than sorry. And then three hours later, our houses were gone.” Her emotional journey of loss and hope continues as they plan to rebuild their lives.
Despite losing so much, Faris remains optimistic. “I feel so fortunate,” she stated. “And there’s so many of us that lost our homes and they weren’t nearly as fortunate as we were.”
