The actress emphasized the emotional challenge of admitting that the fault lay with her partner rather than herself. “I had immense love and faith in that person, which led me to believe the fault lay with me,” she explained. Even their therapist had difficulty recognizing the signs of abuse for quite some time, only beginning to understand the situation toward the end of their therapy sessions.

A pivotal moment in her realization came during a therapy session when Kendrick finally broke down, allowing her to view her relationship with a more discerning perspective. This moment marked a significant turning point, leading to the swift conclusion of the relationship. Kendrick also shared her determination to take on the role in “Alice Darling” without external influence, reflecting her need to make her own decisions and pursue roles that resonated with her personal experiences.

Currently, Kendrick has confirmed that she is single and has one non-negotiable when it comes to future romantic partners, indicating a newfound awareness and commitment to her own well-being.
