London, England – Legendary rock band The Who announced their farewell tour, titled ‘The Song Is Over North America Farewell Tour,’ set to kick off on August 16 in Sunrise, Florida, and conclude on September 28 in Las Vegas.

Surviving members Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey made the announcement during a press conference at the Iconic Images gallery in London on May 8. In a heartfelt statement, Townshend reflected on their time performing in North America, saying, ‘Well, all good things must come to an end. It is a poignant time. For me, playing to American audiences and those in Canada has always been incredible.’

The tour consists of 16 shows, including stops in major cities like Newark, Philadelphia, Boston, and Toronto. Daltrey expressed his gratitude towards American fans, stating, ‘The warmth of the American audiences over the years has been inspirational to me.’ He reminisced on their early days in the 1960s, describing an atmosphere filled with music and connection.

Tickets for the tour will go on sale beginning May 13, with pre-sales for Citi cardholders and the Who Fan Club starting earlier. ‘This tour will be about fond memories, love, and laughter. Make sure you join in,’ Townshend added.

The Who has held farewell tours before, with their last major farewell tour occurring in 1982. Townshend acknowledged the skepticism surrounding farewell tours but emphasized the importance of this one.
