Antetokounmpo Brothers Unite as Alex Signs with Milwaukee Bucks
Milwaukee, Wis. — The Milwaukee Bucks have signed forward Alex Antetokounmpo to a two-way NBA contract, joining his brothers Giannis and Thanasis on the roster. ESPN‘s Shams Charania reported the news on Monday, marking a historic moment in NBA history as three brothers will be active on the same team’s roster.
Alex, who is 24 years old, has not yet played in a regular-season NBA game. He has spent the previous two seasons overseas, playing for various teams including Mazeikiai in Lithuania, Podgorica in Montenegro, and PAOK and Aris in Greece. His last stint in North America was with the Wisconsin Herd, the Bucks’ G League affiliate during the 2023-24 season.
While with the Herd, Alex played 18 games, averaging 5.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 0.6 assists in about 21 minutes per game, shooting 32% from the field. Prior to his time with the Herd, he played for Raptors 905, the Toronto Raptors‘ G League affiliate, during the 2021-22 season.
This signing creates a unique opportunity for the Antetokounmpo family and will be watched closely as the season progresses. As Alex joins his brothers, the Bucks will look to capitalize on their family talent and chemistry on the court.
“It’s amazing to be able to share the court with my brothers. We’ve always dreamed of this,” said Alex in a recent statement.
