Anthony Mackie Claims He Helped Launch Ryan Gosling’s Career
In a recent video interview titled ‘Anthony Mackie‘s Memories’ with Entertainment Weekly, actor Anthony Mackie made a humorous claim that he played a significant role in launching the career of fellow actor Ryan Gosling. Mackie jokingly stated that he has “made a lot of dudes famous,” specifically pointing to Gosling as one of them.
Mackie referenced their collaboration in the 2006 film *Half Nelson*, which was the first movie to earn Gosling an Oscar nomination. Although *Half Nelson* was not Gosling’s first film – he had already appeared in movies like *The Notebook* and *Remember the Titans* – Mackie argued that it was a pivotal film in legitimizing Gosling’s career.
The interview also included anecdotes about Gosling’s behavior on set, with Mackie recounting a story about Gosling’s interaction with a feral cat during the filming of *The Fall Guy*. Mackie described the cat as “mangy” and likened it to a creature from Michael Jackson‘s ‘Thriller‘ video, expressing his concern that Gosling might catch something from the cat.
Ryan Gosling, known for his roles in films like *The Notebook*, *La La Land*, and *Drive*, has established himself as a leading man in Hollywood. His career spans from his early days as a child star in the Mickey Mouse Club to his current status as a respected actor and advocate for social and environmental issues.
