Anthony Scaramucci Criticizing Trump Comments On Puerto Rico

Anthony Scaramucci, the former White House communications director, has strongly criticized comments made about Puerto Rico at a recent Donald Trump rally in New York. During the rally, comedian Tony Hinchcliffe referred to Puerto Rico as a “floating island of garbage,” a remark that has been widely condemned by high-profile Puerto Ricans including Jennifer Lopez, Ricky Martin, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Bad Bunny.

In an interview with Saxo, Scaramucci stated that these inflammatory comments have “lit up” Puerto Ricans in the US and could potentially influence the outcome of the upcoming election. He highlighted the significant number of Puerto Rican voters in key swing states like Pennsylvania, noting that if a substantial portion of them were to vote for Kamala Harris, it could swing the state in her favor.

Scaramucci also discussed his past experiences in the White House and his relationship with Donald Trump. He described Trump as a “lawbreaker” and a “rule stretcher,” citing instances where he was asked to lie for Trump and veto the Russian sanctions bill, actions he refused to take. This refusal, Scaramucci said, contributed to his swift firing from the White House.

Additionally, Scaramucci agreed with Kamala Harris’s characterization of Donald Trump as a “fascist” and emphasized his own disillusionment with Trump’s handling of various issues, including the pandemic and his general behavior and language.
