LOS ANGELES, CA – Apple TV+ is set to premiere its latest comedy series, “Stick,” on Wednesday, June 4. The show stars Owen Wilson as Pryce Cahill, a once-great golfer whose life spiraled out of control after a tragic incident.

Pryce, who now sells golf clubs and runs schemes with his caddy Mitts, embodies the struggle between joy and despair. His life is characterized by a mix of humor and sorrow, as he navigates his messy home life and broken relationships, including with his ex-wife Amber-Linn, played by Judy Greer.

During a lesson at a local golf course, Pryce encounters 17-year-old Santi Wheeler, played by Peter Dager, who possesses extraordinary golfing talent. Recognizing the potential in Santi, Pryce offers guidance, aiming to reclaim his own sense of purpose by mentoring the young golfer. Their journey unfolds through various tournaments leading up to the U.S. Amateur match, where Pryce confronts his old rival, Clark Ross, portrayed by Timothy Olyphant.

The series cleverly navigates themes of loss and redemption while exploring the relationship between the characters. As they travel in Mitts’ RV, they also develop camaraderie with new characters like Zero, played by Lilli Kay, who adds a modern twist to the ensemble.

Jason Keller, the show’s creator, captures the generational gap and emotional weight of the characters’ journeys. With its heartwarming tone and humor, “Stick” promises to resonate with viewers looking for comfort and deeper connections amidst the laughs.

The show is directed by Valerie Faris and Jonathan Dayton, known for their work on other beloved projects. As the season unfolds, viewers can anticipate not only a heartening sports story but also nuanced character development that reflects both the challenges and triumphs of life.
