Cupertino, California — Eligible Apple customers have until July 2, 2025, to claim part of a $95 million settlement related to privacy concerns with Siri, Apple’s voice assistant.

The settlement comes after allegations that Siri unintentionally activated and recorded private conversations from September 17, 2014, to December 31, 2024. Affected users can submit claims for up to five Siri-enabled devices, including iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches, and Macs.

Users must attest that each device was accidentally activated during a private conversation. If approved, each claim can yield a maximum payout of $20 per device, totaling up to $100 for five devices, although actual amounts may vary based on the total number of claims.

Apple has apologized for the incident and acknowledged concerns over user privacy. The company settled the case to avoid further litigation, denying any wrongdoing in the process.

Individuals who have already received a Claim Identification Code will receive notifications about the settlement. However, anyone believing they qualify can submit a claim, regardless of prior notification.

Claims can be submitted via the settlement website, where users are required to provide personal information and proof of ownership for the devices they are claiming. The process includes uploading proof of purchase or entering serial numbers for the devices.

Final approval of the settlement is set for August 1, 2025. It may take some time before payments are distributed, depending on any potential appeals.
