Ariana Grande Singapore Premiere Incident

SINGAPORE — Fans are calling for action after a man rushed the barricade and grabbed Ariana Grande at the premiere of “Wicked: For Good” on Thursday. Video footage shows Australian man Johnson Wen charging past photographers and reaching for Grande as she walked along a yellow carpet surrounded by fans.

Cynthia Erivo, Grande’s co-star, swiftly intervened, pulling the actress away from Wen. Security quickly escorted him out of the event. Wen later posted on Instagram, claiming he was “free after being arrested,” although court documents indicate that he is expected to appear in court on Friday.

Wen, known as “Troll Most Hated” on social media, has a history of similar disruptions at events. His Instagram features clips of him jumping on stage at concerts, including a recent incident during Katy Perry’s concert in Sydney.

Social media users criticized Wen for his behavior. One comment read, “There needs to be action against him as this is clearly a criminal offense.” Others expressed concern for Grande, who previously experienced post-traumatic stress after a bombing at her 2017 concert in Manchester that killed 22 people.

Many fans expressed their outrage, with comments like, “Ariana has been through so many scary things… and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?” Following the incident, Grande appeared visibly shaken, and her co-stars comforted her.

Despite the chaos, the event continued as planned. Hundreds had gathered at the mall for the premiere, some waiting in line for up to eight hours. Grande and Erivo, who star in the highly anticipated film, wore stunning outfits for the occasion. The film releases on November 21 and is a continuation of the beloved Broadway adaptation that centers on the friendship between two witches.

Grande has not yet publicly commented on the incident.
