Ariana Grande Joins Cast of ‘Meet the Parents 4’

Los Angeles, CA – After receiving an Oscar nomination for her role in Wicked, pop star Ariana Grande has secured her next film project. The Grammy-winning artist will star alongside Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro in the fourth installment of Universal‘s comedy series, Meet the Parents 4.
Blythe Danner and Teri Polo are expected to reprise their roles, though their agreements have yet to be finalized, sources say. John Hamburg, who co-wrote the previous three films, penned the screenplay for this installment and will direct. Universal has scheduled the film’s release for November 25, 2026. Jay Roach, who directed the first three movies, is among the producers.
The original film, released in 2000, centered around the hilarious attempt of a young man seeking his future father-in-law’s blessing for marriage. It was a commercial success, grossing over $330 million worldwide and solidifying Stiller and De Niro as comedy staples in Hollywood. The sequels, Meet the Fockers and Little Fockers, added to the franchise’s success, with total box office earnings surpassing $1.13 billion.
Details about the new film’s plot are tightly held, but sources reveal that it focuses on the son of Stiller and Polo’s characters, who becomes engaged to a strong-willed woman portrayed by Grande.
Producers Jane Rosenthal and De Niro will work through Tribeca Productions, while Roach joins forces with Delirious Media. Stiller will produce alongside his Red Hour Films banner and John Lesher, with Hamburg also producing through Particular Pictures. Universal’s production team will be led by Matt Reilly and Jacqueline Garell.
Although Grande is primarily known for her music career, she began in acting with Nickelodeon’s hit series Victorious. Her recent performance in Wicked, where she starred as Glinda, showcased her acting range and received critical acclaim, earning her multiple award nominations including an Academy Award nod.
Grande is also set to reprise her role as Glinda in the sequel to Wicked, which recently finished production. In recent months, she has declined several film offers from major studios, indicating a strong desire to find a comedy role that fits her vision.
