NEW YORK, Jan. 23, 2025 — Atari Inc. has issued a public warning regarding RealPongCoin ($PONG), a cryptocurrency project using the company’s registered PONG trademark without consent. The gaming giant emphasized it has no affiliation with the crypto initiative and is actively reviewing legal measures to address the unauthorized use of its intellectual property.

In a statement released Wednesday, Atari cautioned that RealPongCoin risks misleading consumers by suggesting a connection to the iconic gaming brand. “Atari’s legal team is actively reviewing measures to stop the misuse of its intellectual property,” the company said.

Atari, founded in 1972, is a globally recognized interactive entertainment company with a portfolio of more than 200 games and franchises, including PONG®, Asteroids®, and RollerCoaster Tycoon®. The company operates offices in New York and Paris and is publicly traded on Euronext Growth Paris and OTC Pink Current markets.

The unauthorized use of the PONG trademark comes as Atari continues to expand its presence in the gaming and entertainment sectors. The company’s family of brands includes game developers Digital Eclipse and Nightdive Studios, publishing label Infogrames, and community sites AtariAge and MobyGames.

Atari’s legal team has not yet disclosed specific actions it plans to take against RealPongCoin. However, the company’s swift public warning underscores its commitment to protecting its intellectual property and brand integrity.

For media inquiries, Atari directed questions to its PR representatives at ÜberStrategist Inc., including CJ Melendez, Ron Burgess, Tabitha Beidleman, and Jordanne Laurito.
