Audra Mcdonald On Broadway

Audra McDonald, the six-time Tony Award winner, is set to return to Broadway in the iconic role of Madame Rose in the timeless musical ‘Gypsy‘. This production, directed by George C. Wolfe, will feature McDonald alongside a talented cast including Danny Burstein, Joy Woods, and Jordan Tyson, among others. The show is scheduled to open at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, with previews starting soon.

In addition to her theatrical endeavors, Audra McDonald is also actively involved in social causes. Recently, she has been associated with Covenant House, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing safe shelter and supportive services to homeless and trafficked youth. During Youth Homelessness Awareness Month in November, Covenant House, with the support of advocates like McDonald, will be rallying the global community to take action against youth homelessness. The organization has made significant strides, providing over 862,000 nights of safe housing and serving 1.8 million meals to youth and young families in need.

McDonald’s return to Broadway and her commitment to social causes highlight her multifaceted career and her impact both on and off the stage. Her role in ‘Gypsy’ is highly anticipated, given her previous successes and her reputation as one of the most versatile and accomplished performers in the industry.
