Avalanche Win Preseason Match Against Golden Knights 4-2

DENVER, Colo. — The Colorado Avalanche defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 4-2 in a preseason game on Tuesday night at Ball Arena, marking their fourth consecutive win this preseason.
Jack Drury kicked off the scoring for the Avalanche at 10:43 in the first period, making a goal from a right-circle one-timer after receiving a cross-ice pass from Ross Colton during a two-on-one rush.
The Golden Knights responded quickly, with Tanner Laczynski tying the game at 1-1 just 55 seconds into the second period. Joe Fleming then gave Vegas a short-lived lead at 11:55 with a close-range shot. However, Jason Polin netted a goal for Colorado at 1:59 of the third period, leveling the score at 2-2.
Colton later delivered the game-winning goal at 5:54 in the third, converting another setup from Drury. Joel Kiviranta capped the game with an empty-net goal at 19:59, solidifying the Avalanche’s victory.
“We executed the plays we’ve practiced,” said Colton. “Coach [Jared Bednar] emphasizes being aggressive, and I think we did that well tonight.”
Trent Miner made 22 saves for the Avalanche, maintaining a strong defensive front against the Golden Knights’ pressure.
The Avalanche will rematch the Golden Knights on Wednesday at T-Mobile Arena, starting at 7 p.m. MT, with both teams looking to finalize their rosters ahead of the regular season.
