DreamWorks Animation has unveiled the official trailer for The Bad Guys 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2022 animated hit. The new film, set to release on August 1, 2025, promises an action-packed adventure with the return of the beloved animal outlaws and the introduction of a new team of villains, The Bad Girls.

The original cast, including Academy Award winner Sam Rockwell as Mr. Wolf, SAG award nominees Marc Maron as Mr. Snake and Craig Robinson as Mr. Shark, Grammy winner Anthony Ramos as Mr. Piranha, and Emmy winner Awkwafina as Ms. Tarantula, are back. They are joined by a new trio of comedic powerhouses: Oscar nominee Danielle Brooks as Kitty Kat, a clever snow leopard; Oscar nominee Maria Bakalova as Pigtail, a brilliant Bulgarian wild boar engineer; and Emmy nominee Natasha Lyonne as Doom, a wry raven with a knack for deception.

The story follows the now-reformed Bad Guys as they try to maintain their newfound goodness but are hijacked into a high-stakes, globe-trotting heist masterminded by The Bad Girls. Director Pierre Perifel and producer Damon Ross return, with JP Sans co-directing the film. The music is once again composed by Oscar-nominated Daniel Pemberton.

The sequel aims to expand the universe of The Bad Guys, exploring new locations and cinematic sets inspired by big action movies like James Bond and Mission: Impossible. The visual style has been enhanced with more line work, texturing, and brush strokes, maintaining the painterly and illustrative look of the first film.

The film also delves deeper into the characters, particularly testing Mr. Wolf’s determination to remain a good guy. According to Perifel, the movie is about the philosophical argument of whether Wolf made the right choice in going good and staying good.
