Baton Rouge Mardi Gras 2025 Parade Celebrations

BATON ROUGE, La. — South Louisiana is gearing up for the 2025 Mardi Gras season, with Baton Rouge set to host a series of vibrant parades and festivals. The celebrations kick off with the 5th Annual Krewe of Oshun Parade and Festival on Jan. 6, 2025, and continue through March 4, 2025, culminating in Fat Tuesday.

The Mardi Gras season, also known as Carnival, is a time of revelry and tradition. This year’s festivities come just days after a tragic attack in New Orleans, where 14 people were killed and dozens injured in what FBI officials have called an act of terror. Despite the somber backdrop, Baton Rouge residents and visitors are determined to celebrate the season’s spirit of resilience and joy.

Highlights of the Baton Rouge Mardi Gras schedule include the CAAWS Mystic Krewe of Mutts, a unique parade featuring costumed dogs, and the Krewe of Artemis, an all-female krewe known for its elaborate floats and throws. Other notable events include the Krewe of Orion, Mid City Gras Parade, and the iconic Spanish Town Parade, which draws thousands of spectators each year.
