Baylen Dupree Tourette Syndrome Tlc Series

Baylen Dupree, a 21-year-old from West Virginia, is set to star in the new TLC reality series ‘Baylen Out Loud,’ which premieres on January 13. The show offers an intimate look at her life with Tourette syndrome, a neurological disorder characterized by involuntary tics. Dupree’s story is both unique and inspiring, as she navigates daily challenges with humor and resilience.

In an exclusive clip shared with Parade, Dupree introduces herself and explains her condition. ‘Tourette syndrome is a neurological involuntary motor and vocal disorder that is chronic,’ she says. ‘When I get the urge to tic, it feels like my skin is crawling and it’s very, very itchy. After I do the tic, or release the tic, the urge goes away.’

Dupree’s tics can be triggered by anything she sees, hears, or thinks about. ‘Anything I see, hear, smell, think about—makin’ waffles, makin’ waffles, makin’ waffles—like that because I’m thinking about that,’ she explains. Her candidness and humor shine through as she discusses her experiences, including her tendency to comment on baldness when she sees a bald person.

The series also delves into Dupree’s personal life, including her relationship with boyfriend Colin Dooley. ‘He’s, like, my backbone,’ she told Us Weekly. ‘Everything that I do, just being around him helps. He understands me somewhat better than I understand myself a little bit.’

Dupree hopes that ‘Baylen Out Loud’ will not only entertain but also educate viewers about Tourette syndrome. ‘I am hoping that people take away a lot and a lot of information from Tourette and a lot of information about tick disorders and everything like that,’ she said. ‘In general, I just want to impact and inspire other people regardless of if it’s the next generation or past generations that may not have too much knowledge on Tourette.’

The premiere of ‘Baylen Out Loud’ is set for Monday, January 13, at 9 p.m. ET on TLC, with episodes available the next day on Max.
