Bebe Rexha and David Guetta Nominated for Grammy for their Collaboration ‘One In A Million’
The pop music artist Bebe Rexha and acclaimed DJ and producer David Guetta have received a joint nomination for the Grammy Awards this year. They collaborated on their hit song ‘Hey Mama‘ in 2015 and have since worked together on several platinum-selling songs. Their latest collaboration, ‘One In A Million‘, has earned them a nomination in the pop dance recording category.
Rexha and Guetta’s working relationship is described as having a sibling dynamic, with occasional annoyances but a deep gratitude for each other’s talents. Their musical chemistry is said to be special, and they have plans for more collaborations in the future, whether it’s Rexha writing for Guetta or him producing for her.
Their first meeting took place at Atlantic Records‘ studios in Los Angeles, where Guetta played Rexha an unfinished idea for a song. Inspired by the music, Rexha quickly went into the recording booth and added a melody and lyrics, surprising Guetta with a complete song upon his return.
The duo sometimes faces artistic obstacles, but with ‘One In A Million’, the creative process was smooth and effortless. Both Rexha and Guetta have a keen eye for perfection and put in the effort to finalize their ideas until they are satisfied.
Rexha has been nominated for the Grammy Awards four times, including a nomination for ‘Meant To Be‘, her collaboration with Florida Georgia Line, which earned her a nomination for Best Country Duo/Group Performance. Despite her expectations, Rexha doesn’t set her hopes on Grammy recognition and considers being in the mix an achievement in the competitive music industry.
Following the Grammy Awards, Rexha will perform at Sports Illustrated The Party Presented by Captain Morgan in Las Vegas. The event, set before the Super Bowl LVIII matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers, will also feature performances by The Chainsmokers and Kygo.
Rexha’s partnership with Captain Morgan aligns with her personal interests, and she is excited for her performance at the event. Although she enjoys watching the halftime show, Rexha admits that her main focus during the Super Bowl is enjoying some good chicken wings and pizza.
