Ben Affleck Returns in New Dunkin’ Ad with Jeremy Strong During Grammys
LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Ben Affleck reprised his role as the world’s most famous Dunkin‘ enthusiast in a new commercial that premiered during Sunday night’s Grammy Awards. The Oscar-winning actor, joined by his younger brother Casey Affleck and “Succession” star Jeremy Strong, brought humor and Boston pride to the latest installment of Dunkin’s advertising campaign.
The 60-second spot opens with Ben Affleck, clad in his signature orange and pink Dunkin’ tracksuit, knocking on Strong’s dressing room door. Casey Affleck, wearing a fuzzy pink bucket hat and orange-tinted sunglasses, warns, “Jeremy is a method actor. He’s not coming out until he’s ready.” Ben, visibly confused, quips, “Look where I’m at. We’re big time now.”
When Ben opens the door, he finds Strong emerging from an oversized Dunkin’ coffee can, covered in a coffee-colored glaze and coffee bean chunks. “What are you doing in there?” Ben asks. Strong, in character, replies, “We’re doing a Dunkin’ Donuts commercial, right? I’m just trying to find the character. I think I found a way in. You’re from Boston, I’m from Boston. Dunkin’ is Boston. Boston is Paul Revere. One if by land, two if by sea. Red coats are coming.”
Ben, speaking in a thick Boston accent, acknowledges Strong’s dedication, saying, “You’re an artist, and I know what that’s like. But how long is it gonna take for the being method?” Strong admits it will take three hours, prompting Casey to joke, “Shoulda paid for Matt,” a nod to Matt Damon, who starred alongside Ben and Tom Brady in last year’s Dunkin’ ad.
The commercial, part of what Dunkin’ calls the “Dunkin’ Cinematic Universe,” was produced in collaboration with Artists Equity, the creative agency co-founded by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon. The ad concludes with a flash of text announcing next Sunday’s event and the tagline, “Suit up, America.”
This latest installment continues Dunkin’s tradition of leveraging Affleck’s Boston roots and star power to connect with audiences. Last year’s ad featured Ben, Damon, and Brady performing a pop song titled “Don’t Dunk Away at My Heart,” which became a viral sensation.
Dunkin’ has not yet announced plans for future ads in the series, but the brand’s playful approach and celebrity collaborations have solidified its place in pop culture.
