Benji Madden Celebrates 10 Years with Cameron Diaz and Her Acting Comeback
LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Benji Madden, the Good Charlotte guitarist, marked a decade of marriage with actress Cameron Diaz and celebrated her return to acting in a heartfelt Instagram post on Friday, Jan. 17, 2025. The couple, who tied the knot in 2015, have largely kept their relationship private, making Madden’s public tribute a rare glimpse into their life together.
“This is my QUEEN ❤️,” Madden, 45, wrote alongside a selfie of the couple. “I celebrate this BAD ASS WOMAN. Wife, Mommy, friend, partner, Boss, and lover. We just hit 10 YEARS married on January 5th and every year only gets more fulfilling.” He added, “It’s special. Never perfect – always real – always reliable. Every day getting to have my best friend with me ride or die … what a beautiful life – I am GRATEFUL!!! 🙏”
Madden also highlighted Diaz’s return to the big screen with her new Netflix film, *Back in Action*, her first acting role since 2014. “ANOTHER MiLESTONE happening TOMORROW!!! We are SO happy to see you … BACK IN ACTION!! … Congrats baby!!❤️❤️❤️🎉🎉🎉 ❤️ GO watch it on @netflix 😛😛🤘🤘🤘🎉,” he wrote, referencing the film’s release.
The couple, who share daughter Raddix, 5, and son Cardinal, 9 months, have been notoriously private about their family life. Diaz, 52, stepped away from Hollywood to focus on her family, a decision she discussed during an October 2024 appearance at Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit. “He’s just the best,” Diaz said of Madden, per *Fortune*. “We were in the house for a long time, which was amazing. He was like, ‘You’ve been supporting us and building the family.’ And supporting him in his businesses. He’s like, ‘It’s time for us to support you and let Mommy ascend and do her thing.’”
Diaz emphasized that her hiatus was about reclaiming her life and prioritizing her family. “Taking time off felt like the right thing for me to reclaim my own life, and I just really didn’t care about anything else,” she said. “Nobody’s opinion, nobody’s success, no one’s offer, no one’s anything could change my mind about my decision of taking care of myself and building the life that I really wanted to have.”
In *Back in Action*, Diaz stars alongside Jamie Foxx as former CIA agents forced back into action after their secret identities are exposed. The film marks a significant milestone in her career, coming nearly a decade after her last major role.
Madden’s Instagram post also included a glamorous photo of Diaz in a silver dress with bold red lipstick, as well as a sweet selfie of the couple. Among the comments were supportive messages from Madden’s twin brother and Good Charlotte bandmate Joel Madden, who dropped three red heart emojis, and fellow rocker Billy Idol, who wrote, “Queen 👑.”
The couple’s relationship has been a testament to their commitment to each other and their family. Diaz recently revealed that therapy has been a key factor in maintaining their strong bond. “It’s what we depend on, so you have that commitment to work on it,” she told Joel Madden in an interview. “You can’t be in a marriage and have a family if … both people are not 100 percent every day. Nobody can be 99 and the other one be 100.”
*Back in Action* is now streaming on Netflix.
