Bethesda Welcomes Skyblivion Team After Oblivion Remaster Surprise

Rockville, Maryland – Bethesda Softworks has forged a surprising alliance with the Skyblivion team, whose ambitious project aims to remaster the classic role-playing game, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. This collaboration comes after Bethesda unexpectedly announced its own remastered version of the game, which left many in the gaming community astonished.
Before Bethesda’s reveal, Rebelzize, the lead for the Skyblivion project, reached out to the company amidst rumors of a potential remake. Following the announcement, Bethesda invited the Skyblivion team to their studio, recognizing their hard work on the modding project. In a show of appreciation, the studio shared a preview of their remastered Oblivion with the volunteers.
On social media, Rebelzize expressed gratitude to Bethesda, stating, “Massive thanks for @BethesdaStudios for inviting us to the office and showing us around. The excitement from the Bethesda team for @TESRSkyblivion has been absolutely unreal.” Accompanying his message were photographs of the Skyblivion team interacting with Bethesda developers, including studio head Todd Howard.
Despite the excitement, some skeptics speculate that Bethesda’s outreach may be a strategic move to avoid backlash over overshadowing the efforts of the Skyblivion team. Nevertheless, the studio’s positive approach towards modding communities stands out in an industry often criticized for stifling such initiatives.
While Oblivion Remastered is now available, the release date for Skyblivion is yet to be formally announced, with estimates suggesting it could launch in 2025. Rebelzize assured fans last month that the project remains on schedule and continues progressing smoothly.
