Bhumi Pednekar and Ishaan Khatter Discuss Filming Romantic Scenes in ‘The Royals’

New Delhi, India — Netflix‘s upcoming romantic comedy series ‘The Royals‘ has garnered much attention for its lead actors, Bhumi Pednekar and Ishaan Khatter. The show is set to premiere on May 9, 2025, and features a plot centered around a royal romance.

During a promotional interview with Zoom, Bhumi Pednekar shared insights about their preparation for intimate scenes. She revealed that both actors attended intimacy workshops to build trust and comfort with each other. Bhumi commented, “Ishaan fairly knows a lot about my life and vice versa, which created a lot of comfort. What I enjoyed the most with Ishaan was our silences. You can’t rehearse that. It can’t be written, it just happens.”

She expressed how these workshops transformed their onscreen chemistry and helped to create a safe environment for both performers. Bhumi noted, “There was a lot of trust between the two of us because of the workshops. Ishaan made me feel extremely comfortable.”

‘The Royals’ is directed by Priyanka Ghose and Nupur Asthana and produced by Pritish Nandy Communications. It boasts a strong supporting cast, including Zeenat Aman, Dino Morea, and Nora Fatehi.

The storyline follows Sophia Shekhar, played by Bhumi, a self-made entrepreneur who designs a hospitality brand that allows guests to stay with a royal family. Sparks fly when she meets the charming prince, Aviraaj “Fizzy” Singh, portrayed by Ishaan Khatter, amidst a series of comedic and romantic mishaps.

As the premiere date approaches, both Bhumi and Ishaan’s performances are highly anticipated by fans eager to see how their chemistry translates on screen.
