San Francisco, CA – Billie Eilish announced Sunday night at her final concert of the “Hit Me Hard and Soft” tour that her 3D concert documentary, co-directed with James Cameron, will be released in theaters on March 20, 2026. The film will be distributed by Paramount Pictures alongside collaborations with Darkroom Records, Interscope Films, and Lightstorm Entertainment.
Eilish shared her enthusiasm on Instagram, stating, “This has been one of my favorite tours everrrrrr and being able to capture it and co-direct this film with [James Cameron] has truly been a dream come true. Can’t wait for you all to see it.”
During a concert in Manchester over the summer, Eilish hinted at the project, mentioning the increased number of cameras present and teasing a special collaboration with Cameron. “Basically, I can’t say much about it, but what I can say is that I’m working on something very, very special with somebody named James Cameron, and it’s going to be in 3D,” she told her fans.
Her previous films include the 2021 documentary “Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry” and the concert movie “Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles,” which showcased her journey and artistry. Eilish concluded her ‘Hit Me Hard and Soft’ tour in San Francisco, captivating audiences with her performances.
Cameron, renowned for his blockbuster hits like “Titanic” and the “Avatar” franchise, is also gearing up for the release of “Avatar: Fire and Ash,” the third installment of his popular series, set to hit theaters on December 19, 2025. This timing for Eilish’s documentary could offer a substantial promotional boost ahead of Cameron’s film.
