Hollywood, CA – Billy Bob Thornton, star of the hit series Landman, has expressed his eagerness to continue on the show amid some uncertainty regarding the upcoming Season 2. In a recent interview with Gold Derby, Thornton, who plays oil executive Tommy Norris, shared his hopes about the future of the series.

Landman is a show I’d like to work on for a while. I told Taylor, I said as long as you want me around, I’m here for this,” Thornton said. He emphasized his commitment to the show and the strength of its cast and crew, noting their stellar collaboration.

However, Thornton’s excitement comes with a side of concern. He revealed that he has not seen all the scripts for Season 2, which has raised questions among fans. Last year, he mentioned, the cast received every episode at the start of production, but this year they’ve only viewed about half of them.

“I can tell you this much. I’m loving this season, the relationships are really growing and gelling,” he noted. Thornton continued, praising writer and director Taylor Sheridan‘s ability to create compelling narratives without it feeling like exposition, a challenge that often plagues initial seasons.

The production team is currently in the middle of filming Season 2, which is expected to continue exploring the complex world of the oil industry in Texas. Thornton and his colleagues are intrigued by where the story will lead, especially since the absence of complete scripts could indicate that Sheridan is keeping pivotal plot points under wraps.

Joining Thornton in Season 2 are Demi Moore, Andy Garcia, Ali Larter, Jacob Lofland, Michelle Randolph, Paulina Chávez, Kayla Wallace, Mark Collie, James Jordan, and Colm Feore. The show, inspired by Christian Wallace‘s podcast “Boomtown,” centers around Norris’s quest to elevate his company during the fuel boom in Texas.

While many fans eagerly await the show’s return, the release date remains unconfirmed, with speculation suggesting it could premiere sometime in 2026.
