Billy’s Moon Soo-ah Remembers Late Brother Moon Bin in Heartfelt Tribute

SEOUL, South Korea — Moon Soo-ah, a member of the K-pop group Billy, shared an emotional tribute to her late brother, Moon Bin, on social media, marking a poignant moment for fans and family alike. On April 19, 2023, Moon Bin, a member of the popular group ASTRO, tragically passed away at the age of 25.
On the anniversary of his passing, Soo-ah expressed her longing for her brother in a heartfelt post, asking, “Are you doing well, brother?” She revealed that she sang for him for the first time, emphasizing her desire to convey her feelings to him. “It may not be perfect, but I want you to know what I mean,” she wrote. “I guess I wanted to be good to you. I wanted to convey my heart like this.”
Reflecting on her journey since his passing, Soo-ah acknowledged the struggles she has faced. “I’m really working hard. There are days of holding out and days of mess, but the more I did, the more I tried to live a life of strength. I thought my brother would say ‘well done’ when he saw me,” she shared.
She also described dreaming of Moon Bin, saying, “I sometimes see it in my dreams these days. It was nice to see you, not often. When I see you again later, carry me on your back and hug me. And you don’t have to say anything, so just say one thing: ‘Su-ah, you worked hard.'” This sentiment conveyed a deep emotional connection and love between the siblings.
In her closing remarks, Moon Soo-ah expressed a heartfelt promise to her brother, stating, “Let’s do it forever, Moon brothers and sisters. Even if I’m born again, I’ll be your brother’s brother. I miss you from the bottom of my heart and I love you.”
Moon Bin’s untimely death not only affected his family but also deeply impacted fans and fellow artists. His agency, Fantagio, expressed profound sorrow, emphasizing the collective mourning of those who knew him well. They created a memorial space in their office to honor his memory, in line with the wishes of his family.
In tribute to Moon Bin, ASTRO, alongside numerous prominent K-pop artists, will release a new single titled “Moon in the Dream” at 6 p.m. The song features contributions from members of Monsta X, Seventeen, SF9, Stray Kids, and others, showcasing a unified effort to honor Moon Bin’s legacy and comfort fans who cherished him.

Prior to his debut, he appeared as a child actor in TVXQ’s music video for “Balloon” in 2006 and played a young version of actor Kim Bum in the hit drama “Boys Over Flowers” in 2009. In addition to his work with ASTRO, he also formed a unit called “Moon Bin & San-Ha” with fellow member San-Ha.
