Birmingham Hippodrome Peter Pan 2024

The Birmingham Hippodrome, in collaboration with Crossroads Pantomimes, announced the latest casting details for their highly anticipated production of Peter Pan, set to run from December 21, 2024, to February 2, 2025. This staging promises a “swashbuckling adventure” timed to delight audiences during the festive season.

Danny Mac, renowned for his multi-award-winning performances on both stage and screen, is set to return to the Birmingham Hippodrome. In his new role as Captain Hook, Danny brings a wealth of experience, having previously captivated audiences as Prince Charming in the 2017/18 production of Cinderella at the same venue. His accolades include notable roles in productions such as Sunset Boulevard and Les Misérables, alongside a celebrated appearance on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing with Oti Mabuse.

Danny Mac is joined by an impressive cast including Alison Hammond as the Magical Mermaid, Matt Slack as Smee, Andrew Ryan as Mrs. Smee, and Billie-Kay as Tink, who were announced earlier in the year. Enhancing the cast, Rhiannon Chesterman will portray Wendy Darling and Noah Harrison will take on the role of Peter Pan. Chesterman is known for her diverse theatrical roles, including performances in We Will Rock You and Rock of Ages, while Harrison, a new graduate of Arts Educational Schools, boasts credits from productions like Grease and Pretty Woman.

Commenting on the casting announcements, Jon Gilchrist, Artistic Director and Chief Executive Officer at Birmingham Hippodrome, expressed his excitement: “We’re so pleased to have Danny Mac making a welcome return to the Hippodrome in this year’s pantomime as Captain Hook. We are also excited to welcome two new faces to our pantomime family with Rhiannon and Noah, who I’m sure will feel right at home here at the Hippodrome during such a special time of year for us.”

Michael Harrison, Chief Executive of Crossroads Pantomimes, who also takes on the role of producer and director for Peter Pan, shared his enthusiasm: “We’re delighted to complete our star casting for the Hippodrome’s panto with the addition of the talented Danny Mac, as well as announcing Rhiannon and Noah as Wendy and Peter Pan. Following the huge success of Peter Pan at The London Palladium last Christmas, we can’t wait to bring the production to the Midlands in the company of Alison Hammond, Matt Slack, and all a truly sensational panto cast.”

The production promises to be a visual feast, featuring stunning sets, magical special effects, and beautiful costumes straight from The London Palladium, ensuring a memorable experience for audiences. Inclusive performances, including Audio Described, Captioned, BSL interpreted, and relaxed performances, will be available throughout the season, offering broad accessibility options for theatre-goers. Tickets for Peter Pan at Birmingham Hippodrome are now available for purchase.
