Black Sabbath Announces Monumental Farewell Concert in Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, England — Legendary rock band Black Sabbath announced their final concert featuring the original lineup will take place on July 5, 2025, at Villa Park in Birmingham. The event, titled ‘Back to the Beginning,’ will mark the first performance together of Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward in two decades.
The star-studded concert will benefit Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorns Children’s Hospice, with all event profits equally shared among these charities. Osbourne expressed his gratitude for returning to his roots, stating, ‘It’s my time to go Back to the Beginning… time for me to give back to the place where I was born. How blessed am I to do it with the help of people whom I love. Birmingham is the true home of metal. Birmingham Forever.’
Joining the original members of Black Sabbath will be an impressive array of supporting acts, including Slayer, Pantera, Gojira, Halestorm, Alice in Chains, Lamb of God, Anthrax, and Mastodon. Additionally, renowned guitarist Tom Morello will serve as the musical director for the concert, which he described as ‘the greatest heavy metal show ever.’
This monumental event not only features the four original members of Black Sabbath but also highlights the contributions of numerous iconic musicians from various heavy metal genres. The lineup includes Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins, Jonathan Davis of Korn, and Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit, among others.
Black Sabbath, whose roots trace back to their formation in 1968 in Birmingham, has sold over 75 million albums worldwide. Their groundbreaking sound has influenced countless bands and genre developments throughout the decades.
