Black and White Kyurem Debut with Unique Adventure Effects in Pokémon GO

LOS ANGELES, California – Trainers are gearing up for the global debut of Black Kyurem and White Kyurem in Pokémon GO during the upcoming Pokémon GO Tour: Unova – Global, scheduled to take place from March 1 to March 2, 2025. This event will feature the introduction of Adventure Effects, new abilities that enhance gameplay outside of traditional battles, significantly impacting trainers’ Pokémon-catching strategies.

When fused with either Zekrom or Reshiram, Black Kyurem and White Kyurem can unleash their powerful Charged Attacks, Freeze Shock and Ice Burn, respectively. Both moves will have significant Adventure Effects. While Black Kyurem’s Freeze Shock immobilizes wild Pokémon for a 10-minute duration, slowing movement and making captures easier, White Kyurem’s Ice Burn will slow down the target ring in encounters, facilitating excellent throw opportunities.

Trainers will need to utilize 5,000 Stardust and 5 Kyurem Candy to activate each Adventure Effect. These effects can be extended in 10-minute increments, reaching a maximum duration of 24 hours. However, trainers should note that Freeze Shock and Ice Burn cannot be activated simultaneously. Currently, neither Kyurem can learn these moves via Charged TM or Elite Charged TM.

Participants who attended the in-person Pokémon GO Tour events in Los Angeles and New Taipei City will have early access to these Adventure Effects starting February 24, 2025, allowing them to utilize Freeze Shock and Ice Burn in raids to encounter Legendary Pokémon.

Additionally, players can engage Black Kyurem and White Kyurem in five-star raids, gaining Fusion Energy crucial for further fusions. During the global event, trainers will choose between two distinct badges: the Black Version (Reshiram) or the White Version (Zekrom). The chosen badge influences specific rewards and bonuses during gameplay.

The Tour Pass, a free and limited-time progression track during the Pokémon GO Tour: Unova, allows players to earn rewards and bonuses through completing Pass Tasks and accumulating Tour Points. Major milestones during the event will enhance event bonuses, increasing Catch XP and extending the duration of the Adventure Effects for players who effectively utilize the Tour Pass.

A set of tiered rewards is available based on the selected badge, offering rich incentives for players to participate. As the event approaches, the Pokémon GO team encourages trainers to stay up to date with guidance from local health authorities to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
