Bobby Moynihan Cast in Tracy Morgan’s New Comedy Pilot

NEW YORK, March 17, 2025 — Bobby Moynihan has been cast as a series regular in the upcoming untitled comedy pilot starring Tracy Morgan, produced by notable creators Tina Fey, Robert Carlock, and Sam Means. This new project marks a significant collaboration, as both Moynihan and Morgan share a history with “Saturday Night Live,” providing a strong comedic foundation for the series.
The pilot focuses on Morgan’s character, Reggie, a disgraced former football player who strives to redeem his public image. Moynihan will portray Gator, Reggie’s loyal teammate, who remains by his side despite the challenges they face.
Moynihan’s extensive experience includes being a cast member on “Saturday Night Live” for nine seasons and appearing in several shows co-created by Fey and Carlock, including “Mr. Mayor” and “The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.” He has also guest-starred in “30 Rock,” which was both created by and starred Fey. This shared background among the team is expected to enhance the comedic tone of the new pilot.
“Bobby’s humor and warmth bring so much to Gator, and we’re excited to have him onboard,” said Carlock, underscoring the excitement surrounding the casting.
The pilot is directed by Rhys Thomas and will feature additional series regulars such as Daniel Radcliffe and Erika Alexander. Alongside Fey, Carlock, Means, and Morgan, executive producers include Eric Gurian and David Miner, with Thomas serving as executive producer for the pilot.
The project is produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, and features collaboration with producing partners Little Stranger, Bevel Gears, and 3 Arts. Notably, Moynihan continues to appear on CBS’s “NCIS: Origins” and has roles in upcoming projects, including the Pixar film “Hoppers.”
Moynihan is represented by UTA, Provissiero Entertainment, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
