Brad Paisley Dawes Raining Inside Performance

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Brad Paisley has released a new collaboration with American rock band Dawes titled “Raining Inside,” following their memorable performance together at the Grammy Awards last month.

Paisley originally wrote the song in collaboration with Dawes’ lead singer Taylor Goldsmith and songwriter Lee Thomas Miller. Initially, the track featured only Paisley’s vocals, but after the Grammy performance of Randy Newman’s “I Love L.A.” alongside Goldsmith and his brother Griffin, Paisley decided to include them for the studio version released on March 7, 2025.

The Grammy performance, which also showcased artists like Sheryl Crow, Brittany Howard, John Legend, and St. Vincent, inspired this new direction in Paisley’s work. “A friend of mine said afterwards that it was a blade of grass that comes up in a scorched landscape,” Paisley recalled, reflecting on the encouraging aftermath of the event. “That text chain with Taylor started out as, ‘Are you guys okay?’ and ended with Taylor texting, ‘Can you believe we did that together?’”

Paisley is gearing up for his upcoming “Truck Still Works World Tour” set to commence on May 21, 2025, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. This tour will mark his first performances at iconic venues, including the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado, and the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, California. It includes 16 shows across various cities and will feature Walker Hayes as a special guest, with Avery Anna, Mae Estes, and Alexandra Kay as the opening acts.

Earlier this week, Paisley also announced a charity event titled “Groceries with Dignity & Comedy Without” with Brad Paisley & Friends, scheduled for April 13 in Nashville. The event aims to benefit The Store, a non-profit organization that helps families in need.

The release of “Raining Inside” adds to the ongoing conversation about mental health. The lyrics poignantly capture the essence of internal struggles, expressing, “No one’s sick and no one died, no one’s left and no one’s leaving/ But it’s raining inside.” This track is viewed as a significant piece addressing mental health issues, resonating with listeners through its relatable theme.

As the country music landscape continues to evolve, Paisley’s latest release and tour announcement highlight his commitment to both his art and community efforts. Fans eagerly await his upcoming performances while engaging with the important themes presented in “Raining Inside.”
