Brad Pitt Cliff Booth Netflix Sequel Casting

Los Angeles, CA — Brad Pitt is set to return as Cliff Booth in a sequel to “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” with Scott Caan and Elizabeth Debicki joining the cast. Production is expected to begin this July, led by director David Fincher under the Netflix banner.

Details about the film’s plot remain closely guarded. The story will follow Cliff Booth, a former stuntman and body double to actor Rick Dalton. This sequel reportedly takes place in a later time period than the original film. It is uncertain if the project will incorporate themes or backstory from Quentin Tarantino‘s earlier work on the character.

The film began as a script Tarantino wrote for himself, which Pitt lobbied to have Fincher direct instead. Shots at the secrecy surrounding the film show the hype it is generating, with one source remarking, “This film is more secretive than Star Wars.”

Caan and Debicki’s roles have not been officially disclosed. However, sources indicated that the story includes key female characters, one being a bar owner who also operates a mud wrestling venue, while the other may be a trophy wife. It remains unclear if Debicki will play either role or a different character altogether. For Caan, this role marks a reunion with Pitt, having previously starred together in the “Ocean’s Eleven” series.

Filming is set to take place in California. Both actors come with extensive backgrounds; Caan, son of late actor James Caan, has appeared in multiple television series including “Hawaii Five-0,” while Debicki is well-known for her award-winning portrayal of Princess Diana in “The Crown” and roles in films like “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” and “Tenet.”

Netflix has not commented on the recent casting announcements. The overall mystery surrounding the project continues to fuel interest among fans and industry watchers alike.
