F1 Movie Apex Brad Pitt Filming

Miami, FL — The highly anticipated Formula 1 film, titled “APEX,” is set to hit theaters this summer. Produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, the film features Brad Pitt and Damson Idris portraying drivers for the fictional APX GP team.

According to Bruckheimer and actress Kerry Condon, who plays the race director, “APEX” is touted as the most authentic racing movie ever made. To capture the essence of Formula 1, Condon immersed herself in the world of racing, consulting with F1 insiders such as strategists Ruth Buscombe and Bernie Collins.

“I spoke to strategists Ruth Buscombe and Bernie Collins, and they helped me,” Condon said. She explained that understanding the intricate details of F1 required significant learning, much of it through firsthand conversations and books. “I read a book by Adrian Newey about car building, which I really enjoyed,” she added.

Additionally, seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton took on a producer role for the film, offering valuable insights during filming. Bruckheimer described Hamilton’s advice as “particular,” recalling a specific instance when Hamilton noted that during a race scene at Turn 4, changes in gear selection needed to be corrected for accuracy. “It’s that precise how authentic this movie is,” said Bruckheimer.

While capturing the reality of racing is essential, filming during live events brought challenges. Bruckheimer noted that with thousands of fans present, the potential for spoilers loomed. “There’s always a challenge,” he said, “because you have thousands of people around. But even if you’ve seen little bits, you can’t predict how it’s gonna happen.”
