Breeze Airways Inaugural Flight Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Breeze Airways has officially launched its operations at Piedmont Triad International Airport (PTI) with inaugural flights to Hartford, Connecticut, and Orlando, Florida, which took off Friday afternoon.

The new airline is offering nonstop flights twice a week, with departures scheduled for Mondays and Fridays. One-way fares for these routes start at $39. Breeze’s Chief Operations Officer, Mike Wuerger, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We are not just another airline; we are a nice low-cost carrier, and the timing was right. You guys are growing, and it fits very well.”

Wuerger noted that Breeze, a smaller airline compared to its competitors, aligns well with PTI’s size and passenger needs. The addition of Breeze Airways brings the total number of airlines operating at PTI to five, joining Allegiant Air, American Airlines, Delta Airlines, and United Airlines.

In the first half of 2025, passenger travel at PTI showed a slight increase, prompting airport officials to explore renovation plans. Wuerger highlighted the potential for long-term success, saying, “GSO is the perfect alliance with us, and I think we will have a really long relationship.”

The flight to Orlando is available year-round, whereas the Hartford service will be seasonal. According to airport authorities, this new connection is part of PTI’s broader goals of rebuilding and expanding flight offerings after disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Travelers eager to experience the new service can book flights through Breeze’s website. Additionally, the airline has garnered recognition as one of the best domestic airlines, emphasizing customer flexibility with no change or cancellation fees up to 15 minutes before departure.
