Actress Brenda Blethyn has announced her departure from the long-running TV detective show Vera after 14 successful seasons on ITV. The 78-year-old acclaimed actress will wrap up her role as the iconic straight-talking Detective Chief Inspector Vera Stanhope this summer, marking the conclusion of the show’s final season.
