LOS ANGELES, CA — Brittany Snow recently opened up about her experiences filming intimate scenes in the Netflix series ‘The Hunting Wives,’ particularly focusing on her dynamic with co-star Malin Akerman. Snow appeared on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast and discussed how their mindfulness around one another led to some unexpected results.
During the podcast, Snow shared that she and Akerman became ill from consuming too many mints while filming their scenes. “There were so many mints on that set, to the point where we both got sick,” she said, recounting that one day she even went through an entire tub.
Snow emphasized the unique connection women tend to share on set, contrasting it with her experiences working with men. “As women, you’re so mindful of each other. Guys, they sometimes don’t care. There’s not a mint in their mouth,” she explained. Their concern for each other’s comfort created a welcoming atmosphere. “With Malin and I, it was like, ‘Are you OK? Can I put my hand here?’ It was just so nice and so different,” she added.
Snow praised Akerman for her professionalism and attentiveness. She noted that Akerman, being Swedish, was more open about nudity, which helped set the stage for Snow’s own comfort. “She’d ask me, ‘Do you want me to put my body here so you don’t have to show this part of yourself?’ I thought that was so selfless and nice,” Snow said.
The actress is excited for the second season of ‘The Hunting Wives,’ which was recently renewed by Netflix. Filming for Season 2 is set to begin in two weeks, and Snow expresses her enthusiasm for continuing the exploration of these characters. The series follows her character Sophie as she navigates obsession and danger after moving from Boston to Texas and forming a bond with the wealthy socialite Margo, played by Akerman.
Snow also challenged the stigma surrounding older women in Hollywood, stating, “There’s a stigma in Hollywood that once you’re 40, you’re no longer seen as a sexual being, which is completely false.” She appreciated that the show adds depth to the discussion. “I hope you have more,” Snow concluded, referring to the portrayal of older women and their sexuality.
The Hunting Wives is available to stream on Netflix. The series presents both women as they become embroiled in a world filled with secrets as they navigate their intense relationship.
