Bruce Springsteen's Mother Adele Zerilli Springsteen Dies At 98

Adele Zerilli Springsteen, the beloved mother of rock legend Bruce Springsteen, has passed away at the age of 98. Her son announced the news on social media, sharing a touching video of the two of them dancing to Glenn Miller’s classic swing-era song ‘In the Mood.’ In his post, Bruce quoted lyrics from his song ‘The Wish‘ that pay tribute to his mother’s daily routine and the memories they shared.

Adele had been battling Alzheimer's disease for the past decade and had reached a point where she could no longer speak or stand. Despite her illness, Adele remained an inspiration to her famous son and to the countless fans who were captivated by her joyful and spirited charm. She was a devoted mother of three and the last surviving member of the Italian-American Zerilli sisters.

Adele’s presence was not only felt in her son’s music but also in the hearts of fans around the world. She was a regular fixture at Bruce Springsteen’s concerts, often joining him on stage to dance and sing along. Video evidence of Adele rocking out with Bruce dates back to 1992, showcasing her undeniable charisma and magnetic personality.

As a New York City native, Adele moved to Freehold, New Jersey as a child. Little did she know that her son would go on to become a lyrical legend and one of the most influential musicians of his time. Bruce Springsteen’s anthem ‘American Land‘ pays homage to the Zerillis alongside other immigrant families, solidifying Adele’s place in her son’s musical legacy.

Adele’s passing is not only a loss for her family but also for the E Street Nation and the larger music community. She was the matriarch of the Springsteen family and a constant source of positive energy and inspiration. Her husband, Douglas Springsteen, who also inspired Bruce’s songs, passed away in 1998.

Adele Springsteen is survived by her daughters Pamela Springsteen and Virginia Shave, as well as a large and loving extended family. Bruce Springsteen and his family have expressed their deep gratitude and love for Adele, recognizing the immense impact she had on their lives.
