The Brutalist Dominates 2025 Golden Globes with Multiple Wins
The 2025 Golden Globes celebrated the year’s best in film and television, with ‘The Brutalist‘ emerging as the night’s biggest winner. The drama, which entered the ceremony with seven nominations, took home multiple awards, including Best Drama Motion Picture, Best Director for Brady Corbet, and Best Actor for Adrien Brody, marking his first Golden Globe win.
On the film side, Jacques Audiard‘s ‘Emilia Pérez‘ also made a strong showing, earning the most nominations of any movie. The film won Best Musical or Comedy and Best Original Song, while its stars, including Zoe Saldaña, were recognized for their performances. Saldaña won Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy, adding to the film’s accolades.
In television, ‘The Bear‘ led with five nominations but only secured one win: Jeremy Allen White for Best Actor in a Comedy Series. Meanwhile, comedian Nikki Glaser made history as the first woman to host the Golden Globes solo, following her standout performance at Netflix’s ‘The Roast of Tom Brady.’
The ceremony, broadcast live on CBS and streamed on Paramount+, featured memorable moments, including Selena Gomez and fiancé Benny Blanco‘s playful red carpet appearance. Gomez, a double nominee, attended the event in a custom Prada gown, while Blanco humorously claimed he took home ‘the best award of the night’—his fiancée.
The night also included a mix of heartfelt speeches and lighthearted jokes, with Glaser quipping about Gomez and Blanco during her opening monologue. The event concluded with star-studded after-parties, where winners and nominees celebrated their achievements.
