Giannis Antetokounmpo Injury Impact

MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN – The Milwaukee Bucks are preparing to face the Philadelphia 76ers tonight at Fiserv Forum without their star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo. He is out for one to two weeks due to a low-grade left groin strain sustained during a recent loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Antetokounmpo was injured in the second quarter of the game after scoring 14 points and contributing five rebounds and four assists. Bucks head coach Doc Rivers provided some insight into the situation, saying, “I don’t know what grade it is, but I know it’s not a bad one, so that’s good news for us. Hopefully less than two weeks.”

The injury report for the Bucks also lists Taurean Prince, who is recovering from neck surgery, and Kevin Porter Jr., who underwent knee surgery earlier this season. Porter is expected to make a return in early December, and he shared his experience post-surgery, stating, “It’s uplifting to be back, being able to walk.”

The Bucks, who have lost two straight games, stand at 8-7 this season and are looking for a change in momentum against the 76ers, who come in at 8-6. The Sixers have struggled recently, losing three of their last five games.

Tyrese Maxey has stepped up for Philadelphia, averaging 31.9 points this season. However, the 76ers will also miss several key players tonight, with Joel Embiid and Kelly Oubre Jr. both sidelined due to injuries.

This matchup might serve as a test of resilience for the Bucks, who have had a tough stretch lately. Rivers will need to rely on the remaining roster to maintain competitiveness against a struggling but talented 76ers team.

Tipoff is set for 8:00 p.m. ET, and the 76ers enter as 2.5-point favorites.
