Buffalo Bills Clinch Fifth Consecutive AFC East Title
The Buffalo Bills have secured their fifth consecutive AFC East title, marking a franchise record, following their 35-10 victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Week 13 of the 2024 NFL season. This achievement comes despite pre-season predictions of regression for the team due to offseason roster changes.
The Bills, now with a 10-2 record, have a significant lead in the AFC East. They hold a 4.5-game advantage over the Miami Dolphins, who are second in the division with a 5-7 record. The New York Jets and New England Patriots have been eliminated from the divisional race, with records of 3-8 and 3-9, respectively.
The clinching scenario was set in motion with the Dolphins’ loss to the Green Bay Packers on Thanksgiving, and the Bills’ win over the 49ers sealed their division title. This is also the sixth consecutive season the Bills will appear in the playoffs and their seventh in the last eight years.
With this division title, the Bills have ensured at least one home playoff game. They are now focused on competing with the Kansas City Chiefs for the AFC’s top seed and a first-round bye. The Bills hold the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Chiefs, thanks to their Week 11 win.
