Cam Thomas Ruled Out with Hamstring Injury in Nets’ Game Against Pacers
INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Brooklyn Nets guard Cam Thomas was ruled out for the remainder of Wednesday’s game against the Indiana Pacers due to left hamstring tightness.
Thomas, the Nets’ leading scorer, appeared to injure himself attempting a step-back jump shot midway through the first quarter. He immediately signaled to the bench, leaving the game after just 6 minutes on the court.
At 24 years old, Thomas is averaging 24.4 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 2.9 assists in his first seven games this season. Last season, he led the Nets in scoring with an average of 24.0 points but was limited to just 25 games due to similar hamstring issues.
“I felt a tightness in my hamstring, so I had to come out,” Thomas said. “I just want to make sure I’m healthy and can contribute to the team.”
The Nets, who are still in search of their first win of the 2025-26 season after an 0-7 start, face additional challenges as they move forward. They currently sit at the bottom of the league as the Pacers, who hold a record of 1-6 this season, look to improve following their appearance in last year’s NBA Finals.
After negotiations stalled last summer, Thomas signed a one-year qualifying offer worth $5.99 million, making this season a pivotal one for his career.
In his absence, the Nets may rely on players like Egor Demin, Tyrese Martin, or Ziaire Williams to fill in. Thomas’s absence could significantly impact the team’s offensive strategy, as he averages 18.6 shot attempts per game.
The severity of the injury has not yet been disclosed, but the Nets are taking precautions with Thomas’s health as they look ahead to their next game against the Detroit Pistons on Friday.
