Candace Cameron Bure Reflects on Marriage Struggles and Faith

LOS ANGELES, California — Candace Cameron Bure opened up about her marriage to Valeri Bure during a recent interview, sharing her experiences of struggle and restoration over nearly three decades together.

The 49-year-old actress, known for her role on ‘Full House,’ expressed her feelings of brokenness at times in their relationship, saying, “There were times of deep brokenness that I felt. I have experienced that. I mean, we all do.” She reflected on how her marriage has experienced valleys but noted, “But God is in the restoration business… [God] loves to restore and make all things new, and he certainly has.”

Cameron Bure and Valeri, who married in June 1996, have faced challenges, especially when balancing work and family life. She said, “There’s always been a struggle with work and family life balance. I think so many women experience that.” Despite the ups and downs, she emphasized that her commitment to Valeri remained strong even through their toughest times.

The couple’s difficulties intensified during the pandemic, prompting Cameron Bure to reflect deeply on their relationship. Her son, Lev, played a crucial role in their reconciliation, delivering what she called a pivotal 45-minute sermon on marriage to his parents, which reminded them of their family values.

“[Lev] just talked about it,” she shared, noting how this conversation helped them view their relationship differently. She added, “It really changed for us after that talk.”

While promoting her upcoming book, “Rise and Renew: A 30-Day Devotional to Heal a Hurting Heart, Overcome Emotional Pain, and Grow in Your Faith,” Cameron Bure expressed the importance of daily reflection and prayer in overcoming life’s challenges. The book, which releases on November 11, is intended to guide readers through their own struggles.

As she navigates this new season of life, with her children growing up and starting their own families, Cameron Bure shared that she feels more in love with Valeri than ever, stating, “I’m more in love with my husband today than when we met. He is truly my best friend.” The actor remains hopeful and encourages others to find hope in their struggles, reinforcing the message that there is always a path to healing.
