Capcom Reveals Major Street Fighter 6 Update Ahead of Switch 2 Launch

LOS ANGELES, CA — Capcom announced a significant update for Street Fighter 6 just days ahead of the Switch 2 launch. The update, which introduces the character Elena, will start on June 3 at 7 p.m. PDT and is set to last about seven hours.
This maintenance will coincide with the official release of Elena and other balance changes for the game. The patch notes, detailing the adjustments for all 25 characters, are expected to be released when maintenance begins. The eagerly awaited update aims to enhance gameplay with several new features and improvements.
Elena, who returns after her last appearance in Ultra Street Fighter 4, is noted for her unique Capoeira fighting style, incorporating graceful dance-like movements and powerful kicks. Alongside her arrival, players can expect new outfits for various characters, including M. Bison and Terry Bogard.
Earlier, the release date for Elena and the Season 3 update was given as June 5, aligning with the launch of the Switch 2. This upcoming version will offer a bundled package that includes the base game and all DLC characters released in the first two years.
Additionally, Yoko Shimomura, a celebrated composer in the video game industry, is returning to contribute a new track titled “Edge of Triumph” for Street Fighter 6. This announcement enhances anticipation for the update, promising to bridge the new content with the established sound of the game.
The improvements and new characters reflect Capcom’s commitment to keeping Street Fighter 6 fresh and exciting. With these changes, Street Fighter 6 is poised to welcome new players who join the community with the Switch 2 launch next week.
