WASHINGTON — Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE) has unveiled ambitious plans to transform Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., into a state-of-the-art venue designed to enhance the fan experience for the next 25 years. The project, announced Tuesday, involves a collaboration with three leading firms: Clark Construction, Gensler, and CAA ICON.

The renovation aims to modernize the arena, making it a high-tech, fan-first destination that will set a new standard for sports and entertainment venues nationwide. MSE President Jim Van Stone emphasized the significance of the project, stating, “With their support, we are poised to create a world-class venue that will redefine the fan experience for years to come and set a new standard for sports and entertainment in the D.C. region and across the country.”

The partnership with Clark Construction, Gensler, and CAA ICON brings together expertise in construction, design, and venue strategy. The project will focus on integrating cutting-edge technology and innovative design elements to create a more immersive and engaging experience for visitors.

Officials hope the upgraded arena will solidify Washington, D.C.’s reputation as a premier destination for sports and entertainment. The modernization effort is expected to attract more events, boost local tourism, and provide a significant economic impact for the region.

No specific timeline or budget for the project has been disclosed, but MSE has committed to ensuring the arena remains a cornerstone of the D.C. community for decades to come. The renovation is part of a broader strategy by MSE to enhance its venues and elevate the overall fan experience across its properties.
