LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Marvel Studios‘ highly anticipated film, *Captain America: Brave New World*, is projected to dominate the box office during the Presidents Day weekend, with an estimated opening of $86 million to $95 million over its first three days and a potential $100 million-plus haul over the four-day holiday stretch beginning February 14, 2025.

The film, which marks Anthony Mackie‘s debut as the new Captain America, follows the events of the Disney+ series *The Falcon and the Winter Soldier*. Directed by Julius Onah, the movie picks up where the series left off, with Sam Wilson (Mackie) taking up the shield after Steve Rogers (Chris Evans).

According to tracking service Quorum, *Brave New World* has the highest awareness among upcoming releases at 58%, surpassing competitors like Universal‘s *Wolf Man* (44%), Lionsgate‘s *Flight Risk* (37%), and StudioCanal/Sony‘s *Paddington in Peru* (36%). The film is particularly strong among male audiences, though women under 35 are not far behind in interest.

Quorum also reports that 67% of potential viewers are willing to pay to see *Brave New World* in theaters, a significantly higher figure compared to other titles like *Wolf Man* (57%) and *Paddington in Peru* (45%). This enthusiasm reflects the enduring popularity of the Captain America franchise, which has seen previous installments like *Captain America: The Winter Soldier* (2014) open to $95 million over three days.

Marvel Studios holds the top three spots for Presidents Day weekend openings, led by *Black Panther* ($242.1 million in 2018), followed by *Deadpool* ($152.1 million) and *Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania* ($120.3 million). While *Brave New World* is not expected to break these records, its projected opening places it in a strong position, especially considering the franchise’s recent reset and the introduction of a new lead.

The film’s release comes nearly nine years after the last solo Captain America movie and four years after *The Falcon and the Winter Soldier* debuted on Disney+. Despite challenges, including reported reshoots and mixed test screenings, the film is poised to capitalize on the goodwill generated by the series and the broader Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Competition during the holiday weekend includes *Paddington in Peru*, which could appeal to family audiences. However, industry analysts predict *Brave New World* will emerge as the clear winner, with *Paddington* likely to perform well in subsequent weeks.

As fans prepare for the next chapter in the Captain America saga, the film’s success will be closely watched as a barometer of the MCU’s ongoing appeal and its ability to transition to new leads and storylines.
