Delhi Car Explosion Near Red Fort

DELHI, INDIA (TNND) — At least eight people were killed and 20 were injured after a car explosion near the Red Fort in Delhi, India, on November 10, 2025. The incident prompted a massive emergency response and investigations by law enforcement.

The explosion occurred around 6:52 p.m. local time when a slow-moving vehicle, identified as a Hyundai i20, exploded after stopping at a red light, according to Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha. The vehicle had three occupants at the time of the blast.

Emergency teams rushed to the scene to assist the injured and secure the area. Witnesses reported panic among bystanders as the explosion set several nearby cars alight. The area remains under heavy security as authorities work to uncover the cause of the explosion.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences via social media, stating, “Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones in the blast in Delhi earlier this evening. May the injured recover at the earliest. Those affected are being assisted by authorities.” He also mentioned that he reviewed the situation with Home Minister Amit Shah and other officials.

As investigations continue, security alerts remain heightened across major cities in India.
