Cardi B to Host Historic Two-Night SummerSlam Event in August

East Rutherford, New Jersey – Cardi B is set to make her much-anticipated debut as the host of WWE’s iconic SummerSlam, scheduled for August 2 and 3 at MetLife Stadium. The rapper announced the exciting news late Friday on social media, expressing her enthusiasm for the two-night event that marks a first in WWE history.
In a clip shared on WWE’s official X account, Cardi, wearing an Eddie Guerrero T-shirt, greeted fans: “What’s up, WWE universe? Guess what? SummerSlam. MetLife. Two nights. And I will finally be hosting.” She concluded with an electrifying promise: “And nobody better try me. We gonna turn up!”
This year’s SummerSlam comes four years after Cardi made an appearance at the 2021 event, where her song “Up” was the official theme. Having to postpone her involvement due to her pregnancy with son Wave, she is now back and ready to take the main stage.
The two-day format was first revealed by Cardi alongside WWE Superstar Bianca Belair in a September promotional video. “I got two words for you: SummerSlam. MetLife,” she stated, to which Belair responded humorously, “I’m pretty sure that’s one word.”
As anticipation builds, fans are advised that tickets for SummerSlam will go on sale on May 2, with a pre-sale available starting on April 30. Given Cardi’s immense popularity and connection with her audience, ticket sales are expected to be robust.
In addition to her hosting duties, Cardi B continues her vibrant music career. She recently released a new single, “Toot It Up,” featuring Pardison Fontaine, and is featured on the soundtrack for the upcoming Smurfs movie. Moreover, she is actively working on her long-awaited sophomore album, the follow-up to her 2018 debut, Invasion of Privacy. Sharing insights during a recent X Spaces session, Cardi noted, “The features on my album are really good … I’m working with artists, some that I have worked with before and some that I haven’t.”
She added, “I can tell y’all this, I’m 100 percent confident with this album. I just don’t think what I got is out there.” Her excitement adds another layer to her involvement with WWE, blending her career in music with her love for sports entertainment.
As the countdown begins for SummerSlam, fans eagerly await what Cardi B will bring to the event, confident that her vibrant personality will enhance the live experience of this historic two-night affair.
