Celebrating Seafood Delights: Channel 7 Mandurah Crab Fest Draws Thousands To Coastal Town

Under the sun-kissed skies of Mandurah, the Channel 7 Mandurah Crab Fest kicked off to an enthusiastic start, drawing in a sea of attendees eager to indulge in delectable seafood delights. The annual event transformed the coastal town into a carnival-like atmosphere, complete with live music, entertainment, and an array of gastronomic offerings.

One of the festival’s first-time attendees, Abel Middleton, a visitor from Victoria exploring the country with his family, dove into a feast of crab and chips, relishing the coastal flavors unique to the region. The Waters family from Kingsley, also taking in the sights, enjoyed a morning of exploration, with young Kimmy trying her hand at news reading at the interactive Channel 7 desk.

At the heart of the festival’s culinary experience was Hayley Ralph of True Blue Ocean Feasts, serving up a storm of freshly caught crabs that had punters lining up for a taste. Cricketing legend Matthew Hayden and his daughter Grace graced the event as ambassadors, delighting attendees with a mouth-watering crab linquini inspired by regional Italian cuisine.

As the day unfolded, the festivities extended beyond food, with pro-wakeboarders showcasing their skills at the Mandurah Action Sports Games. The festival also introduced a WA Police Force careers expo in Mandurah, attracting onlookers with interactive displays and engaging activities.

Tomorrow promises another full day of excitement, with AFL great Mark LeCras and 7News presenter Samantha Jolley taking the stage for culinary demonstrations. The finale will feature a performance by 2023 The Voice Winner Tarryn Stokes, followed by a closing act from alt-rockers Pacific Avenue, bringing a perfect end to this celebration of Mandurah’s coastal charm.
