Celebrating 20 Years of ‘Brice de Nice’ with Dance Contest

NICE, France – To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the landmark film “Brice de Nice,” Ici Azur radio is inviting fans to participate in a social media dance contest. The event kicks off on April 4, the anniversary of the film’s release.
“Brice de Nice,” starring Jean Dujardin as the iconic surfer, gained a massive following with 4.3 million viewers and continues to resonate with audiences through its numerous re-runs and DVD sales. The film’s catchphrase, “Salut, ça farte?” has become part of popular culture on the French Riviera since its debut.
In celebration of this milestone, Ici Azur is encouraging followers on Facebook and Instagram to share their best renditions of the “casse de Brice” dance. Participants can don a yellow t-shirt, complete with the character’s signature blonde hairstyle and accessories, including a resin shark tooth necklace and black sarouel pants.
“We’re excited to celebrate this beloved character and engage our audience in a fun way,” said a spokesperson for Ici Azur. “We want to see your creativity and how you embody Brice through dance.” The winner of the contest will receive prizes, including special merchandise commemorating the film.
The celebration reflects Brice’s lasting impact on both the film industry and the culture of the Côte d'Azur, as the character remains a symbol of local humorous pride. With Dujardin’s portrayal becoming legendary, the radio station aims to capture the joyful spirit of Brice through this contest.
