Celebrities React to Donald Trump’s 2024 US Election Victory
The 2024 US presidential election has sparked a wide range of reactions from celebrities, following Donald Trump‘s victory over Democratic candidate Kamala Harris. Many in the entertainment industry, who had publicly endorsed Harris, expressed their disappointment and dismay on social media.
Cardi B, a strong supporter of Kamala Harris, was particularly vocal. During an Instagram livestream, she expressed her sadness and frustration, saying, “I swear to god I’m gonna f*** you up, get away from me I’m sick of you!” She also encouraged her followers to burn their Trump-supporting hats and acknowledged the emotional toll the election result might have on Harris.
Other celebrities who had endorsed Harris, such as Harrison Ford, Jennifer Aniston, and Arnold Schwarzenegger, were also dismayed by the outcome. Director Adam McKay criticized Trump’s campaign strategies, questioning how certain tactics could have led to a winning strategy. He wrote, “Who would have guessed lying about Biden’s cognitive health for 2 yrs, refusing to do an open convention for a new nominee, never mentioning public healthcare & embracing fracking, the Cheneys & a yr long slaughter of children in Gaza wouldn’t be a winning strategy?”.
Lili Reinhart, star of *Riverdale*, addressed the sexual assault allegations against Trump, expressing her heartbreak for the women who came forward. She wrote, “I cannot fathom the feeling of the women who came forward about their sexual assault at the hands of Trump. Seeing millions of people vote for their abuser. My heart absolutely breaks for these women. I believe you, and I am so sorry.”.
On the other hand, Trump’s supporters in the celebrity world celebrated his victory. Kelsey Grammer, Hulk Hogan, Zachary Levi, and podcaster Joe Rogan were among those who had endorsed Trump. Jake Paul, who also supported Trump, called the Republican party’s triumph “a massive step in the right direction to heal the major issues going on in the world currently”.
Elon Musk, the founder of Tesla and owner of X/Twitter, praised Trump’s victory, indicating his high hopes for the future. He posted, “Game, set and match. The people of America gave Donald Trump a crystal clear mandate for change tonight”.
