Celebrities Unite for LA Wildfire Relief Telethon
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — A star-studded lineup of actors, musicians, comedians, and content creators will come together for LA Wildfire Relief LIVE, a livestreamed telethon to support wildfire recovery efforts. The event, set for Friday, January 24, will broadcast from the Rosewood Residences Beverly Hills and air across YouTube and Twitch channels, with participants joining from locations worldwide.
Organized by interactive fundraising platform Tiltify in partnership with Real Good Touring, WCPG, and CMPS, the telethon aims to raise funds for organizations such as the LAFD Wildfire Emergency Fund, California Fire Foundation, World Central Kitchen, Baby2Baby, and CORE. Notable participants include actors Edwin Hodge, Janina Gavankar, and Rob Reiner; musicians Ryan Cabrera and Constantine Maroulis; and content creators like Markiplier, Pokimane, and The Try Guys.
“By uniting the creator community along with TV, music, and film celebrities in a modern-day telethon, we hope to support the heroes battling the blazes and aid the communities beginning the challenging process of healing and rebuilding,” said Tiltify CEO Michael Wasserman.
Ahead of the broadcast, the initiative has already raised nearly $350,000, including a $100,000 donation from YouTuber Sean ‘Jacksepticeye’ McLoughlin. Tennis star Taylor Fritz also contributed his first-round prize money from the Australian Open, approximately $80,000, to the cause. “Southern California is my home, and LA was my home for a very long time, so I’m just doing what I can possibly do to help,” Fritz said.
The Los Angeles wildfires have devastated the region, burning over 40,000 acres, destroying 12,000 structures, and claiming more than two dozen lives. The telethon will also feature performances by music icons such as Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, and Stevie Nicks, alongside appearances by comedians Rhett & Link from the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.
Celebrities like Anna Faris, Cary Elwes, and John Goodman are among those who have lost homes in the wildfires. Actress Jean Smart recently urged networks to reconsider airing awards shows and instead donate revenue to wildfire victims and firefighters. “With all due respect, during Hollywood’s season of celebration, I hope any of the networks televising the upcoming awards will seriously consider not televising them,” Smart said.
LA Wildfire Relief LIVE represents a collaborative effort to address the ongoing crisis, blending entertainment with urgent humanitarian aid. For more information or to donate, visit the event’s official website.
