PORT EVERGLADES, Fla. — Celebrity Cruises launched its newest ship, the Celebrity Xcel, during an inaugural sailing from Port Everglades on November 15, 2025. This Edge-class vessel introduces several innovative features that impressed guests onboard.

As an invited media guest, I explored the ship and quickly fell in love with its unique design and offerings. With seven new areas, Xcel presents a fresh experience compared to its predecessors. The two-day trip allowed for a quick yet thorough assessment of the ship’s highlights.

As guests enter through LED archways, the ambiance changes with the festival of the day—Carnival, Aqua, Viva, or Flora. The air is infused with crafted scents that match the theme, making for an engaging sensory journey.

Culinary options abound as well, particularly at the Spice Café in the Bazaar. Guests can enjoy various delicacies and specialty drinks in a cozy seating area that offers stunning ocean views. The design, which now includes an enclosed café, enhances accessibility and comfort compared to previous Edge-class ships.

The Club, another multi-purpose venue, features interactive games, including virtual projections and arcade classics. Guests can enjoy darts with a high-tech twist, where cameras automatically score their throws. The Club also hosts live music and entertainment, ensuring there’s never a dull moment.

Dining experiences continue to impress, especially at the Oceanview Café. Known for its quality and variety, it offers freshly made dishes with unparalleled views. Notable mentions include the Mediterranean restaurant, BORA, known for its al fresco dining and delicious flatbread, and the animated cooking show at Le Petit Chef.
